The Zakkushi on Main and King Ed is their 3rd location. I had never been to either though if you've strolled along Denman, their first location i think, you've gone by it many times. They also got one off 4th and Burrard and now one on the aforementioned Main and King Ed intersection (NW corner plaza). The first thing I noticed was the dopest outside front decor. Very Japanese, simple and classic with the use of its wood. Probably my fav in the city. The 4 banners all have a diff colored chicken logo being a yakitori specialty house - japanese chicken skewers (though there's lots of diff kinds of meat skewers with variations on each and also, as pictured on the bottom left, some veggies skewers as well)....

One of my fav skewers was having the shiso leaf wrapped around the meat (shiso can be described as Japanese basil, its also used for Japanese salad dressings and is aka the perilla leaf). Nice to have with the meat and veggie skewers is some hearty koroke (japanese croquettes) and some Asahi beer of course. Having a nice, cold zesty salad on top really balanced out the order (forgot what it was called but pictured below). Most of the skewers are fairly priced though not huge so depending on the meat occupancy the gut desires, you can go a lot or little.
The rest of the interior space is really decored in very modern and Japanese fashion (the faucet in the toilet is a bamboo rod!) though a bit cavernous and could feel a bit cramped but def stylin none the less. Though we were the first ones that go there and there werent too many people in at the time, the service was excellent (friendly, prompt, accurate). Man, it feels nice to have servers not screw anything up or be super late with anything, etc.
