Delicious ice cream and a sunny beach day go hand in hand, and for those venturing south of the city to soak up some rays by the picturesque shore of neighbouring White Rock there's a fresh option when you want to treat yourself.
, known to locals for the past few years as a food truck operation, has added a new location, joining Sirius Craving and Zero Zero Pizza in a shared space steps from the iconic White Rock Pier and beach. The venue is (14985 Marine Dr), a take-out and dine-in counter service space operated by the same company as East Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»and the Sunshine Coast's Coho commissary kitchens.
With its prime beach-front location, Coho's covered patio and spacious interior offer guests plenty of space to sit down and enjoy their food, though on a warm day, it would make perfect sense to head right back outside.
For its part, Praguery specializes in Czech chimney cakes, which is a pastry that is baked on a rod to create a hollow centre, which they fill with soft serve and optional toppings.
Praguery's chimney cakes are naturally plant-based, but the treat-maker has expanded its line of vegan options, building on a base of rice milk soft serve and having plenty of plant-based toppings available. For example, Praguery can do its popular mango or strawberry soft serve chimney cake cones in vegan versions, along with pistachio or lemon.
What's nice is that they fill the tall chimney cake with soft serve, add the topping then repeat the process so that you get lots of that house-made sauce in your bites.
The vegan menu is available at the recently-opened White Rock Coho Eatery shop, as well as from two of its many Lower Mainland food truck stops, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Waterfront and McArthur Glen in Richmond.
