West Broadway's International Sandwich Factory spent about two-and-a-half years constructing bread-based handheld meals, but that ended late last year when the business quietly closed.

According to the Japanese restaurant's website, the chef (referred to simply as "Chef Leon") worked for many years in Seattle sushi shops before moving to Vancouver.
The new shop opened up in late 2024.
It joins several other Japanese restaurants and sushi shops in the area including the famed Tojo's, Namiya Sushi House, Masa Japanese Restaurant, Shoku, Minato Sushi, Tozen Sushi Bar, and Kisokama, which are all within two or three blocks of Saiko.
