Pizzeria Barbarella served its final pies this past weekend.

A beloved pizza place in Vancouver served its final meals this past weekend.

Pizzeria Barbarella officially closed on Sunday, March 2, after more than a decade of serving local families, foodies and pizza-lovers alike.

The business  announced the closure on social media, thanking the community for its support as well as its employees for years of dedication.

"Despite the lack of financial success, Barbarella has always been a very special place because of all of you, and it's been an honour to be part of the community," the post explained.

"We're glad to have been able to foster a workplace where people got along and could be themselves, and got to use their talent and creativity to sling the city's best pizzas."

Barbarella became a fixture in Mount Pleasant since opening in the early 2010s.

Its goal was to create a family-oriented restaurant to host birthday parties, date nights and celebratory dinners, as well as a place to go on "rainy and gross nights when you just didn't want to cook."

The menu included meaty and vegetarian pizzas with add-on toppings, bruschetta, Banoffee pie and an assortment of salads.

Pizzeria Barbarella also appears to have been removed from . The establishment joined the downtown take-out and delivery hub in May 2024 as part its one-bill-for-all offerings.

V.I.A. has reached out to Pizzeria Barbarella for details on its closure and will update if more information is provided.
