, located in Vancouver's Arbutus Ridge neighbourhood, opened just before the COVID-19 pandemic arrived in Vancouver, running for four-and-a-half years at 4021 Macdonald St.
In a note to customers, ownership thanked them for their support over the years.
"While it's bittersweet to say goodbye, I'm excited to embark on the next chapter of my life," wrote the owner, Karen.
A regular at the Market, Karen's was known for its croissants and sourdough bread and carried a wide variety of baked goods and sandwiches.
The bakery's last day was July 12.
The area won't be without a bakery for very long. The space has already been snapped up by another bakeshop business.
"A new owner will be opening a brand new bakery/cafe to serve the community," reads Karen's website.
City documents show Mon Garenne French Bakery (a reference to rabbit warrens) is moving into the space; a bakery is under construction.
