There are two distinct types of pizza in the city, there's places like , and then there's the buck a slice category.  I'm sure there is cheap pizza all over North America, but I think Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»has brought it up a notch...in some ways. I know at least whenever people from other parts of Canada come here, they comment on how many of them there are.  There's even a chain that advertises, 'Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»style Pizza!'  At first I wondered if this is something to be proud of, but I am now....I don't eat it very often, but I'm glad we have so many buck a slices, those times where I'm starving and feel like I have no options..it's always there for me.
Pizza garden on Commercial and on Commercial and Broadway are my two favourite spots, Megabites falls into my category of best chain. Â What determines a good buck a slice place to me is so simple, it has to be busy. Â If it's busy, it's fresh, and if it's fresh, it's good. Â Most restaurants, if there's a line, I don't go, sometimes I even 'baahhhh' at people in line, buck a slice is the opposite, if there's no line, I don't go.
People out front...always a good sign.
I've heard they're opening another one on Main Street, they also have a location in the West End. Â I used to have favourite toppings but for whatever reason freshness is that much more important to me, so I just get whatever came out of the oven most recently.
I know there's hundreds more....what's your buck a slice spot and how many do you think you've tried?
