While a bird in a fruit tree and a bunch of dairy workers are cool gifts I guess, V.I.A.'s Bob Kronbauer went in a different direction.
This year we came up with the 12 Tall Boys of Christmas for my Tapped In column. Since there weren't any multi-brewery advent calendars available in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»this year (missed opportunity, folks), we went DIY.
The concept was simple: Bob went to a local liquor store, bought a dozen craft beers and wrapped them. Then, starting a few days ago, I unwrapped the top and took a sip, trying to figure out what was going on inside and trying not to embarrass myself at the same time.
After I unwrapped the rest, revealing what I'd been blindly drinking and then, for good measure, to a real long sip. Given that Bob was buying some of the more interesting, potent and unusual beers available, that long sip was maybe a mistake to start, but once the format is set, you can't go changing it.
To this point we haven't been putting any of this on the site; it's been a TikTok special, if you will (you may not, it's your prerogative).
