Restaurant on False Creek waterfront closes after more than a decade

Renovations are underway for a new restaurant already at the address

For more than 10 years  restaurant sat overlooking False Creek.

However, the Mediterranean grill at 617 Stamp's Landing recently closed and renovations for a new restaurant at the same address are already underway.

"We are permanently closed," . "Thank you for your business over the years, please look out for the new ownership coming soon!"

The family-run restaurant with a deck over the Heather Civic Marina  from the region, including souvlaki, lamb chops, and Greek fisherman's soup; the connection to Greece came from the family's heritage.

"Inspired by simpler times, Branas is named after owner John Vranakis’ grandparents. Jianni and Anna Branas lived a simple life in a small village in Crete," states the restaurant's website.

Along with the food, Branas regularly hosted musicians.

While the closure happened recently, the restaurant space is already , a that will also feature a menu of Mediterranean dishes.
