A well-known Japanese chain restaurant is expanding into Richmond's growing ramen scene.
The third B.C. location of Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is finally opening its doors this Friday after announcing its planned opening in July.
The Japanese ramen restaurant is opening its doors at 8010 Saba Rd., near Richmond Public Market.
Santouka is known for its mild broth, classic shio, shoyu and miso ramen as well as specialties such as jalapeno and vegetarian ramen.
Its menu also includes gyoza dumplings, salads and rice bowls are also among the restaurant's offerings.
The Hokkaido-based restaurant also features a small "convenience store-like" section with Japanese snacks and ice cream.
Santouka opened its first location on Robson Street in 2010 followed by its second store on West Broadway restaurant in 2017.
For the Richmond shop's grand opening, the restaurant is giving away free ramen coupons to its first 200 customers on Friday and the first 100 customers on Saturday and Sunday.
Santouka's opening hours will be Sunday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
