Commercial Drive staple is growing yet again, as the Indian restaurant gets ready to welcome guests to its new additional location in Vancouver.
The second Bombay Kitchen at 1061 Denman St in the city's vibrant West End. The space was previously - and briefly - home to Thios, a Greek concept.
Though the restaurant previously operated a second location in South Granville, that particular outpost has since closed. The restaurant did not respond to an inquiry about the closure to provide any details about the decision to close up there.
Bombay operator Harsh Sharma promises "a unique fast-casual dining experience with table service, featuring authentic Indian dishes prepared with the freshest ingredients daily," according to an email sent to V.I.A. by a restaurant representative.
The menu will also include grab-and-go options as well as more robust picnic sets, perfect for taking to the nearby beach in English Bay.
Bombay's expansive regular menu at its Commercial Drive base includes a number of Indian food favourites, like pakoras, curries, tandoor oven specialties, and Korma, Rogan Josh, Vindaloo, and Masala preparations of chicken, beef, seafood, and lamb. Additionally, Bombay has an abundance of vegan and vegetarian dishes available, as well as lots of rice dishes, fresh naan, and house-made desserts.
Further details about what to expect at the West End location of Bombay were not made available, however, fans can follow for more information as opening day nears.
