A new family-owned and operated Korean fried chicken restaurant is opening in a small East Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»location.
Located at 4290 Fraser St., Sparky Chicken revealed earlier this year that it would be "coming soon" via a sign on the storefront, which used to be a money lending service.
The includes several chicken options, including original, soy garlic, spicy, sprinkled with cheese, or wasabi mayo. All chicken orders come with free pickled radish and fried tteock (rice cake).
"We not only serve fried chicken, but we also serve Sparky’s special grilled chicken for those who are a fan of grilled chicken," shared a rep for the new business in an email to V.I.A.
They add that another menu option will be to order chicken "on the bap" which means over rice which they say "is perfect to satisfy as a meal."
A soft opening phase was set for June 13, but the restaurant has now updated its social media to share that the opening date has been postponed. The new opening date will be shared soon, according to the business.
The name comes from the notion that eating their Korean fried chicken will "spark joy."
Once open, Sparky Chicken's hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
