Just in time for sunnier days, Downtown Vancouver's new-ish Azur Legacy Hotel will debut its second onsite restaurant as Lavantine opens its doors up on the rooftop level this spring.
, which joins the hotel's other restaurant, Dahlia, at 833 W Pender St, will boast an open-concept kitchen and chef's table option, and what they're calling a "skybar," which will feature "sweeping views of the city skyline, ocean, and mountains," according to a media release.
The Middle Eastern restaurant and bar is drawing from the literary files of the Arabic stories from the legendary One Thousand and One Nights.
Azur chef duo Shyam Longani and Daniel Kenney are behind a menu "inspired by the flavours and recipes of the Levant region as well as the fresh, locally sourced ingredients available from purveyors throughout the Pacific Northwest." Sample dishes teased ahead of opening include a watermelon salad with feta, a mezze platter designed to share, short rib tagine, kofta (meatballs), and baklava.
From the bar - the skybar - you'll find wines and craft beer alongside an extensive curated house cocktail list that also takes its cues from Arabian storytelling.
"Atop our rooftop oasis, every cocktail is a chapter, and every sip a story waiting to be told," said Azur Bar Manager Serhii Kulikov.
Lavantine is prepping to welcome guests in May, though a specific opening date has not yet been announced. Once launched, Lavantine will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 4 to 11 p.m.
