New Italian-meets-West Coast coffee bar Super Veloce open in downtown Vancouver

Offering something for everyone... even dogs!

A new Italian coffee bar with West Coast vibes is set to make good on the notion of "quick-service" food and drink, with a name that literally means "super fast."

has launched in the lobby of the Shaw Tower in downtown Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»at 1067 West Cordova Street.

The grab-and-go spot is the venture of Vancouver's esteemed Kitchen Table restaurant group; they're the busy folks behind local hot spots like Ask For Luigi, Giovane Bacaro, and the new Italian-Chinese fine dining restaurant Miantiao, among others.

On offer at Super Veloce are health-conscious food and drink options, including espresso beverages and bottled smoothies, as well as salads and snacks.

There's an emphasis on fitness, nutrition, and sustainability with the Super Veloce menu; customers can add energy-boosting supplements like maca, collagen, or glutamine to their smoothies, for example, or order "macro-friendly pastries." The salads are made using seasonal ingredients and come in reusable glass jars that net customers a discount when returned to the cafe. They're also making "protein" donuts, called "Pronuts," in a variety of flavours.

Additionally, the menu offers something for every kind of diet, including vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, or sugar-free. Heck, there are even healthy treats just for dogs.

The design of Super Veloce has some serious of-the-moment global connections: The open-concept design and decor, boasting floor-to-ceiling windows, is tied to Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, who designed the new Olympic Stadium in Tokyo. Kuma designed his "Floating Teahouse" for the lobby as part of a called "Japan Unlayered" in 2017.

Super Veloce features outdoor patio seating and indoor seating that includes a moon-shaped bar. The cafe is open daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
