Pajo’s successor is a catering company based in Richmond, which has outlets in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»parks

The new vendor at Garry Point Park in Steveston has finally been revealed.

“Garry Point Grill & Fish ‘N” Chips” has been announced by the City of Richmond as the successor to the much-loved Pajo’s,

Garry Point Grill is owned by Organic Villa Catering, which is based out of Garden City Road, and currently operates a number of concession stands for the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Park Board, as well as food trucks.

Its website says the new Garry Point location will open on Thursday, May 4.

As well as the pre-requisite fish ‘n’ chips, its menu features burgers, vegetarian options, a sockeye salmon burger and New England clam chowder. Poutine and mushy peas are also on there.

New vendor has outlets across Vancouver

In its news release, the city said the new vendor “has experience delivering similar services for the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Parks Board, operating concessions at Spanish Banks, Jericho Beach and food truck services at Stanley Park during large events.”

The city’s decision not to continue the lease with Pajo’s caused much uproar in the community, with claims of the process being unfair to the long-established vendor.

However, Mayor Malcolm Brodie, , tried to set the record straight, pointing out that the process was carried out fairly.

Pajo’s still has its main location near Fisherman’s Wharf at Steveston Harbour.

The News has reached out to the new vendors for more information.
