A spacious new restaurant set to evoke "nostalgia of the Mediterranean with a contemporary edge," is set to open its doors in Davie Village on Monday, April 24.
at 1157 Davie St will offer daily lunch, dinner, and happy hour service, with live music late nights on weekends, according to a media release for the restaurant.
The 68-seat restaurant occupies the 7,000-square-foot space previously home to India Bistro. Designer Kiarash Tarikhi took cues from ancient Greece and Greek gods, resulting in decor elements like custom wallpaper and eye-catching statues. Despite the "ancient" vibes, the goal is to give guests an immersive space with a "modern energy," as well as the neighbourhood a central dining hub. Plans include a 20-seat patio, sure to be a bonus on sunny spring and summer days.
In the works since the start of the year, Med Grill & Bar features the talents of General Manager Armin Nejadyousefi and Shawn Jones from Vianello Hospitality for front of house and Head Chef Chris Robertson and Consultant Chef Alessandro Vianello of Vianello Hospitality in the kitchen.
Med Grill & Bar's menu features "authentic Mediterranean dishes with a twist," and includes starters like Merguez corn dogs and spanakopita to mains like shawarma platters and a signature burger with Two Rivers meat. From the bar, find custom cocktails named for and inspired by Greek gods, along with a fully-stocked bar with spirits, beer, and wine.
"With our delicious food, inviting atmosphere, and excellent service we are excited to open our doors and be part of the community," said Nejadyousefi.
Additionally, the Med Grill & Bar team is working to launch a companion food truck along the same concept lines, available for private bookings and soon to be parked on Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»streets.
Med Grill & Bar will be open 11 a.m. to midnight daily. Happy Hour will be offered from 3 to 5 p.m., and live music from local DJs from 10 p.m. to midnight on weekends.
