Restaurants that have closed their dining rooms to sit-down customers have either shut their doors temporarily altogether, or are doing take-out and/or delivery only. Several restaurants are not just packing up their usual menu items, but have come up with different menus or offerings to serve Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»during the COVID-19 crisis.

Kitsilano's upscale pub The Ellis is offering a variety of "staff meals" portioned in 500 ml containers that you can heat and serve. All the meals available are posted to their Instagram @theelliskits.

Vij's will be open from 5-9 p.m. for pickup and delivery options with a specially prepared menu. It includes affordable dishes, cooked with the same Vij's signature spices, but prepared in ways that accommodate travel time to homes. All dishes will be served with basmati rice, naan, and their channa lentil curry, which is flavoured without chillies, so that kids can enjoy the food. With help from the Vij's serving staff, a limited delivery service will be offered within 10km of the restaurant. Rangoli is open from 11:30am to 2pm and from 5-9pm offering a full menu for in-person pickup at the restaurant, or delivery (via DoorDash). If you order ahead, and then call again when you arrive, they will provide curbside delivery of your meal to your vehicle. This meal delivery service has in response to the COVID-19 crisis. "This means during this time of social distancing you can get meals for around $4 delivered to your home," they shared via e-mail. "After walking through grocery stores and seeing the weight that this situation has put on everyone, and the price hand sanitizer is selling for if you can find it, we wanted to do something different. We hope this can bring a bit of peace to our community in the chaos." Find all the details about how it works and order on their site.
Fufu Cafe
Fife, the small bakery-cafe in Mount Pleasant, has added take-out soups and meatballs to their offerings. And don't leave without a loaf or two of their incredible bread.
This lovely French patisserie in Burnaby has treats available for delivery (Burnaby, New West, Coquitlam, Vancouver) or takeout. Additionally, they are runing their Macaron Day promo: 50% of all macaron sales on March 20 will be donated to Variety BC, the children’s charity. You can take out at the shop, or order macarons over the phone and pick-up, or through Uber Eats.
Red Truck in Strathcona will be bringing their Truck Stop Food Truck back home to offer delicious takeout in the heart of Brewery Creek. Beginning Friday, March 20, the food truck will be located in the parking lot of the brewery at 295 East 1st Avenue. It will operate daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a menu of tacos, Nathan’s Coney Island hot dogs, Truck Stop burgers, and more. Pop inside to get some beers to go, too.
Commercial Drive's Ugly Dumpling isn't serving inside the restaurant, so they pivoted to launch a dumpling take-out operation, the Ugly Dumpling Factory. Connect with them on Instagram to learn how to order.
Soirette is still participating in Macaron Day (March 20), with 100% of sales going to Make A Wish for the first 50 boxes sold. Get macarons and all sorts of sweet treats delivered or with curbside pick-up.
Take away is available from Nook's locations in Kitsilano, the West End, Olympic Village, and North Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»(Shipyards). They are also developing a line of take-out items like their pasta sauce.
Aburi Restaurants (, , )
Aburi closed their restaurants and will now do takeout and delivery (Gyoza Bar already and Miku/Minami starting next week). Right now, they hope to keep as many staff on as they possibly can with these new initiatives. Look for larger-format offerings, as well as added menu options.
Mak N Ming has gotten creative and now have a daily Bento Box ordering system. Check them out on Instagram to get your order in and for more daily details.
Ladner's award-winning Stir Coffee House has closed to customers but they are taking to the streets for those who wish to order packaged loose leaf teas, coffee beans, and To Die For cookies and loaves. Find them on Instagram for details and to order.
Maenam and its family of restaurants—Fat Mao Noodles, Freebird Chicken Shack, Longtail Kitchen, and Sen Pad Thai—have temporarily closed due to the current coronavirus global health emergency. During the closure of its dining room, Maenam’s kitchen will remain open from 5 to 9 p.m. daily to offer takeout, and delivery via Skip The Dishes. Customers wishing to place a takeout order by phone can call 604-730-5579. Only payment by card will be accepted at this time. Maenam gift certificates are also available.
This Lebanese restaurant's Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»(Commercial Dr., South Granville and UBC) locations remain open for take out 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, however they've closed up temporarily at their new Shipyards location in North Vancouver.
Chez Christophe, with locations in Burnaby and White Rock, continues to offer free shipping on order of $35 or more. They have also expanded their line of frozen bake-at-home products.
Mount Pleasant's pizza and pasta spot Sprezzatura remains available for take-out and delivery. You can contact the restaurant by phone or use Ritual or Uber Eats.
Fort Langely's mecca of incredible baked goods is working to set up a "Porch Delivery" service for local orders. You can check their for how to order and express interest.
