Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea at Notch8 at the Fairmont Hotel 鶹ýӳis available through Feb. 19, and is a delicious way to welcome the Year of the Rabbit.

It's time to usher in the Year of the Rabbit. Lunar New Year is upon us, and celebrations abound across the city.

This special time of year puts an emphasis on gathering to celebrate with loved ones and on feasting on delicious foods, including many that are meant to bring good fortune and prosperity.

One dining option available right now in 鶹ýӳoffers a twist on two traditions: . The annual celebration is the theme of at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver's current themed tea service. The restaurant venue's team goes out of its way to create an immersive, elegant, and delicious experience for its guests. Past afternoon tea themes have taken guests on sensory journeys into the world of high-stakes chess, an enchanted forest, and other whimsical interludes.

On now through Feb. 19, Notch8's Lunar New Year tea, as curated by head chef Danai Hongwanishkul, begins with a selection of Fairmont’s Lot 35 Tea, followed by sweet and savoury bites such as chilled char siu sablefish on milk bread, typhoon shelter prawn toast with mandarin orange aioli, pork dumplings, foie gras turnip cake with pork floss, Hainan chicken steamed bao, egg custard tart, red bean macaron, and a special red envelope with chocolate coins. Look for an adorable white rabbit perched atop a slice of lemon cake, perfect for the Year of the Rabbit.

Special cocktails, like one made with The Macallan whisky and truffle, and wines, are available as add-ons. 

Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea at Notch8 is available Thursday through Sunday, with sittings at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. The meal is priced at $69 per adult, $34.50 per child (12 and under), not including tax and gratuity. Reservations can be made .
