A popular Japanese "konbini" - convenience store - conveniently called , has recently opened the doors to its second 鶹ýӳlocation.
Konbiniya has moved in at 2307 W 41st Ave in the former home of West Wood Organics in Kerrisdale.
"After 32 years...opening soon!" declared a sign hung at the location ahead of its launch at the end of February.
Konbiniya has indeed been a go-to Japanese specialty grocery store in 鶹ýӳsince 1991, operating out of its flagship shop at 1238 Robson St as well as online.
"Konbiniya provides Japanese foods, sweets and snacks, drinks or useful supplies," describes the business' website, noting it aims to be "Your Japanese Konbini - open every day, whenever you need." The store also stocks local Vancouver-made Japanese products as well, all aimed at elevating Japanese "gourmet" culture in the city.

You'll find a smaller selection of ready-to-eat packaged meals and treats at the Kerrisdale shop than at the Robson one, but the new store has a stocked freezer with things like heat-and-serve ramen kits. The shop also stocks sundries like beauty products, first aid items, and a few trinkets.
