The brunch scene in Kitsilano is about to get bigger, as the wildly popular preps their second Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»location.

The epic all-day breakfast and lunch spot is known for their huge plates of fun fare and a requisite wait for a coveted table. Now there will be two Jam Cafes on the mainland. The Victoria-born restaurant is moving into the West 4th space that is about to be vacated by Bistro Pastis.

Diners can expect much of the same in terms of decor and menu at the new location, which could be open as soon as November.

Mike Deas-Dawlish, is the co-owner of Jam Cafe on Beatty, along with Jim and Candy Walmsley of the original Jam Cafe in Victoria. Deas-Dawlish tells V.I.A. by phone that once they take possession of the space in early September, they will embark on the renovation--which will be all cosmetic, not structural--and the circumstances are favourable for a quick turnaround.

While Bistro Pastis is licensed for 73 seats, Deas-Dawlish says Jam Cafe will be configuring the space to end up at around 60-65 seats--that's still 10 to 15 more spots than at their first Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»location on Beatty.

A few members of the Beatty Street staff will move over to West 4th, including one of the chefs, so Deas-Dawlish is eying a smooth transition to running two Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»locations.

Jam Cafe has been looking for a second spot for a while, too.

“We wanted to make sure it was the right neighbourhood, where customers wouldn’t have to venture downtown to try our food. Kitsilano is such a great community, so when the current Bistro Pastis location became available, we jumped on it. We can’t wait to be part of it all," Deas-Dawlish said in a media release.

Among the dishes Jam Cafe is known for are Pulled Pork Pancakes, The Charlie Bowl (loaded with biscuits, gravy, eggs, and more), fried chicken with French Toast, and Red Velvet Pancakes--just to name a few from their insane menu. (PS their all-day lunch menu includes equally as outrageous stuff, like a mac and cheese stuffed grilled cheese sandwich.)

The second Jam Cafe in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»will be located at 2153 West 4th Avenue.
