Video: Italian-inspired Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»coffee shop opens second downtown location

Starring top-notch espresso drinks, fresh pastries, and savoury grab-and-go eats

You could say Giovane has gotten its due. That is, the popular downtown Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Italian-inspired caffè has expanded to have not one (uno) but two (due) locations in the city.

This is technically the third (numero tre, if you will) Giovane Caffè; what began as the refreshed caffè concept at the base of the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Coal Harbour has now expanded to include a Toronto outpost.

As of Monday, July 4, Giovane Caffè West Georgia has opened its doors and is serving up classic and contemporary caffeinated beverages, fresh-baked pastries, and savoury grab-and-go items.

Located at 418 W Georgia St in downtown Vancouver, the caffè will echo the vibe and offerings of the original.

The brand is operated by Vancouver's Kitchen Table restaurant group, which took the helm at Giovane at the Pac Rim back not quite two years ago. In spring 2021, they relaunched, including changing over a portion of the former casual cafe space with a refocused concept in place; that's sibling restaurant Giovane Bacaro.

Giovane - caffè - is known for its very Italian espresso drink selection, which sets it apart from other local coffee spots. That includes items like the Mandorlatte, a coffee drink made with espresso, orzata (almond syrup) and your milk of choice,  the Bicerin (espresso, liquid chocolate, cream), and an iced espresso shakerato.

For food, you'll find all sorts of pastries, including delectable Roman-style sugar donuts, semolina cake, and biscotti, alongside cookies and other treats perfect for pairing with a cup of coffee. Panini options include a hearty breakfast-y sandwich loaded with slices of frittata, and take note of Giovane's salads, available to grab and go from the front counter in reusable jars. Bring the jar back for a $1 credit.

Plans are in the works to expand the menu with a liquor licence, which will mean bottled cocktails from Kitchen Table, as well as wine and beer to sip in the light, bright, airy ground-level space.

What's more, for those who spend time in the Emerald City, Giovane Caffè will soon have a presence in Seattle, too.

Giovane Caffè West Georgia is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m.to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Go. The last word is go. And i mean it! xoxo @lindsaywilliamross
