While Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»is already home to outposts of both sandwich spot Chachi's and Hula Poke, this is the first Dirtbelly location in B.C.
Dirtbelly is known for their "grown up veg, for grown up taste buds" menu of salads that feature fresh produce and Ocean Wise-certified seafood. They serve grain bowls, composed salads, mix-and-match salads by the scoop, and are a partner - which means for each of a designated dish purchased, a meal is provided to a local youth in need.
Initially plans had been for 98 Food Co. to include an outpost of their . However, the coffee shop brand is still actively seeking opportunities to franchise in the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»area.
The new "food hall" space, , at the high-end outlet mall has previously served as a food court under different iterations since the launch of phase I of the shopping centre, though initially when the shopping centre opened, it was run like a pop-up marketplace, with several vendors coming and going over the years.
The venue has been completely built out to house the four concepts as a unified "food hall."
Slated to debut this February, the Food Folk Eatery opened just in time for the Canada Day holiday - and amid the COVID-19 pandemic, so distancing measures and enhanced safety protocols are in place.
