I've always wondered how Duffin's came up with their menu.  They started as a donut place, and I suspect at some point they realized they did a lunch crowd so they came up w. the tortas.  Since the one on Knight opened though, they've gone crazy....being open 24 hours  they realized they had to appeal to people who are loaded, now providing Chinese food, and before you know it, pho, fish and chips, and bubble tea were added. Â
This summer, they carry on the tradition of trying to serve everything under the sun, Â with soft serve ice cream. Â They may have out done themselves too as they appear to be on the cutting edge of ice cream technology, they have one machine which serves cones in 24 flavours, one for every hour they're open I guess. Â
One lonely Friday night I decided to give it a whirl. Â When I first ordered it, the girl behind the counter looked confused, it was only after I pointed at the sign her look of confusion turned to irritation. Â For a moment, I thought maybe I had said 'anusol' and not 'ice cream' but before I knew it, she had turned around and started tinkering away with the machine. Â A few minutes later, I had it....overall, not the best ice cream cone I've ever had, but it did taste like the flavour I ordered and well, if it's 4 in the morning and you feel like it..like everything else, Duffin's got it. Â So the only question I have is, "What's next?"
bonus: Tim Hortons x East Van=Duffins
I pretty much had to take math 11 twice cause I was too lazy to show my work so here goes:
Sandwich x East Van= Torta
Soup x East Van= Pho
Ice Cap x East Van= Bubble Tea
Chili x East Van=Chow Mein
Chicken x East Van= Fritou
The most interesting one though is: Donut x East Van= Donut....the Donut is infinite...
