Apple, pumpkin, chestnut...the comforting flavours of fall make for perfect ingredients for so many delectable treats. Those seasonal tastes are the focal point of the annual self-guided , which features a line-up of exclusive eats you can try at over a dozen participating locations this autumn.
Taking place October 4 to 27, the Fall Food Fest is organized by Vancouver's own Noms Magazine, which is a champion of local small restaurants and food businesses. Noms founder Jason Yeh curated the festival as a way to encourage locals and visitors to show some of the city's top café's and bakeries support in the chillier, quieter time of year.
For this year's Fall Food Fest, 14 vendors will have special items for purchase at locations in Vancouver, Burnaby, and Richmond.
This year’s festival promises to take fall favourites to a new yet familiar taste with items like Lumine Coffee's Apple Hojicha Cube Croissant or Pumpkin Pie Mochi Waffles at Boketto Tea Bar. At Whisk Matcha Cafe & Level V bakery, guests can enjoy "Oyatsu O'Clock," a light afternoon meal featuring an Oolong Oat Misto and an onigiri-shaped chestnut cake sandwich, while at Angus T there are gooey apple cinnamon buns.
Anyone who embarks on a taste-your-own-adventure can make use of the fest's passport and "missions" to collect stickers or stamps with each purchase. As an incentive, there are prizes up for grabs, sweepstakes-style, for those who load up their passports with visits.
There's no cost to participate in the event, you'll just be paying for the food and drink you try at any of the participating vendors' cafes or restaurants.
