An East Vancouver small-batch bakery is putting business on pause.
has been a local favourite for artisan bread and pastries since it opened on Commercial Drive in 2020. The family-owned bakery is favourited for its handmade seasonal treats, most of which take between two and three days to complete.
After having to close the bakery over the past week, the owners, Chris and Melanie Cheung, shared an upsetting update on Thursday (March 30).
"It is with heavy hearts that we have to close the doors to our bakery at this time. While we would have loved to remain open, there are some family circumstances we have encountered that take precedence at this time," share the owners on Instagram.
"We have loved every moment, every encounter and every conversation that we’ve shared. We are so appreciative of your love, care and concern for us, the kind words and the laughter," the post continues. "We hope to serve you again in the future."
The closure appears to be indefinite as the owners haven't shared an official closing or re-opening date.
