Popular Main Street pizza parlour closing, with another pizzeria sliding in

A pizzeria with a memorable name is closing down at the end of this month, but another well-known pizza biz is poised to take its place. on Main Street will wrap up over five years of serving up their New York-style pies and slices at the end of August.

Don't Argue launched in 2014, when artisanal-style pizza was enjoying a bit of a moment in Vancouver.

The name was inspired by their first location pick on East Hastings, home to the old Don’t Argue tobacco shop. When the deal fell through, they decided to keep the name as an homage to a bit of East Van history, explains food writer Anya Levykh in her .

The last day for getting your Potato Mash or Salsa Verde pie, or slice of Spicy Margherita or Pancetta Pineapple will be August 30.

Don't Argue has been counting down their last days on their Instagram account, and they've recently had some soothing words for Main Street's pizza fans: "Yes we are closing for good. BUT, our friends  will be coming in hot with a new pizza concept. Handing over our beloved pie joint to the best Pizzeria in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­makes it all right!"

is a Victoria Drive and food truck staple of the past several years, known for their Napoletana-style pizzas and cozy restaurant atmosphere. They've yet to reveal their plans for the Don't Argue Main Street space, but have on social media that the "cat's outta the bag" when it comes to their take-over of the location, urging East Van's pizza lovers to "stay tuned." Indeed, we will!
