Bauhaus owner turns Displace Hashery into family restaurant and sportsbar The Blenheim

Kitsilano sportsbar-restaurant Displace Hashery has become The Blenheim under the new ownership of Bauhaus restaurateur Uwe Boll.

The restaurant biz seems to have taken kindly to director Uwe Boll. His upscale Gastown spot, Bauhaus, has been a critical darling since its debut a couple of years ago, and while Boll and his team have had some ups and downs, he's brave enough to open a second spot.

Taking over the on 4th in Kitsilano, Boll says in a recent Facebook update that the new place is a "sportsbar and family restaurant."

Calling it , after the cross-street at which its located, Boll says they'd previously installed a Bauhaus chef onsite, and the menu has been overhauled to feature "everything fresh and good," including vegan and gluten-free options.

Displace Hashery's website now includes a message from Boll, who explains that as a local, he enjoyed spending time at Displace to watch sports. "I have always liked the atmosphere and the location a lot," the restaurateur adds.

And a little more from the controversial Boll:

"I am the owner of the award-winning , British Columbia's highest-ranking fine dining restaurant. However, I love a good burger and a great pizza, and that's what I'm bringing to The Blenheim."

Address: 3293 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver
