Unfortunately my wife was booked for the first tasting that I scheduled for it so longtime V.I.A. contributor Suede Peterson joined me in her place.... so let's just call the series Dinner With for now.
So, is ridiculous, in a good way. It's been operating for 30 years and recently had a menu change thanks to new executive chef, Francois Gagnon. It's West coast cuisine with a french twist, and I can honestly (HONESTLY!) say that it's been a long time since I enjoyed such a fine meal in a Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»restaurant.
I enjoyed Qualicum Beach scallops with leeks and chanterelle risotto. Pictured below is Suede's Beef Short Rib Bourguignon...
We actually started off with Salt Spring Island Mussels (below), the likes of which I haven't enjoyed since, well, the last time I was on Salt Spring. And we finished with an amazing Creme Brulee.
If you're looking for a delicious fancy meal complimented by an amazing view (not this view of Suede that I had, I mean the view outside the windows looking out onto the ocean), then this is definitely your spot. Learn more about The Teahouse .
