Not long ago I was talking to a friend of mine from the Okanagan, telling him about my plans to plant a little garden this year. To my surprise he told me that the city is actually one of the best places to grow one. He went on to explain that in more rural areas a lot of the time you're butted up against some sort of wilderness or unkept meadow and your garden is constantly being attacked by the bugs that roam everywhere (not as much concrete means more of them) and it's also being seeded with wild weeds nonstop (again, less concrete = more weeds), and that really made a lot of sense. Add Vancouver's rain to the mix of less bugs and weeds and you've got some prime gardening territory.
Below are a bunch of photos of the different types of seedlings I planted in my garden (which I bought at Gardens In Gardens, the nursery with ). In a couple few months I'll do another post with photos of the veggies that grew the best. I'm very much an "amateur" gardener, so we'll have to assume that the ones that do the best are simply the ones that are better suited for Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»gardens...
