Longtime friends Kenta Goto and Karl Fuhre have started a unique Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»business.
The two launched in 2021 after working on the concept together for roughly two years, and self-funding the project.
A designer by trade, Goto currently works full-time for Herschel Supply Co, and manages everything to do with graphic design for the new upstart drink company.
Fuhre manages the day-to-day business, from following up with sales to the fine details of importing the tequila that they mix their drinks with.
Both have worked extensively in the skateboarding and snowboarding industries, and as Goto tells us they wanted to start a business of their own after working many years for different clients.
In those years the two friends found themselves drinking less beer and gravitating more toward soda drinks, so they decided on starting a tequila soda company.
They import tequila in large vats from Mexico and turn it into tasty drinks, right here in B.C.. The plan is to focus only on one type of alcohol, which is produced in the state of Jalisco in Mexico.
Presently their lineup includes a Paloma beverage and a Soda Lime one, with the former tasting slightly sweeter than the latter. From our tasting of them, we can say their flavour profiles are better than the "big brands," who we shall not name here! The Paloma is more like a fruit drink with less focus on the tequila, and the Lime Soda more like those now-traditional tequila and soda beverages you may have drunk, only better.
Keep an eye out for Cinco in better liquor stores around the city, then across Canada as they plan to expand in the coming months and years.
