Oakberry, a popular açai bowl and smoothie chain from Brazil, will soon have five shops in Vancouver. The brand will add its latest shop on April 19, 2024, in Downtown Vancouver.

Add another one - then two more - to the tally for Brazilian açai smoothie giant , as the global brand is gearing up to open another location in Vancouver.

Oakberry will welcome guests to its newest smoothie and bowl shop at The Post (349 W Gerogia St) in Downtown Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»on Friday, April 19.

The shop joins other retail tenants at the high-profile redevelopment like Loblaws City Market and Starbucks. The Post is expected to have several other food options, including Brazilian steakhouse chain Fogo de Chao

First-day customers at The Post can expect discounts on their purchase as well as the chance to win Oakberry prizes.

Brazilian brand built on 100 per cent natural açai

At Oakberry, guests can load up cups (called "bowls") in a variety of iterations, loaded and layered with unlimited toppings like chia seeds, fresh fruit, granola, and coconut, to be enjoyed with a spoon.

The shop also makes sip-able smoothies (with up to three add-ins) using their real açai - which may strike you as being a far more intense flavour if you've only had more watered-down versions in the past. Oakberry's açai is made with 100 per cent natural ingredients, without dyes or artificial preservatives.

In addition to the smoothies and bowls, you'll find packaged goods like Oakberry's own line of açai protein bars, a canned matcha energy drink, and Vancouver-specific merch.

Oakberry, which debuted in Brazil back in 2016, rose quickly to fame and has rapidly expanded across the globe, with franchises in over 30 nations, including the U.S., France, and Australia.

Western Canada's Master Franchisee, Carter Friesen, first encountered the açai bowl and smoothie business while on holiday in Australia and knew immediately he wanted to bring the business back home.

Oakberry will soon have 7 locations in Metro Vancouver

The first Oakberry in Vancouver opened last July at 3139 W Broadway in Kitsilano; the brand has since added shops on W 8th, Davie Street, and Water Street.

In the weeks after Oakberry at The Post debuts, the franchise will add a new shop in Burnaby at The Amazing Brentwood, followed this summer by an outpost in West Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»at Park Royal.

The brand’s expansion into Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»marks the realization of seven Oakberry locations in British Columbia, as part of the brand’s Western Canadian growth, explains a media release for the company.
