These were supposed to be the final, celebratory months of dining at veteran Kitsilano restaurant - but COVID-19 had other plans for the beloved eatery.
Closed since mid-March due to the city and provincial restrictions on dine-in business, Bishop's has just revealed they will be re-opening - before closing - to offer an "at-home" menu.
Launching May 13, Bishop's will be offering food to enjoy at home with curbside pick-up available Tuesday through Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Details about the scope of the menu or any specific dishes have not yet been made available, however you can bookmark the restaurant's , , or for updates.
Bishop's announced in early March of this year that after 35 years they would be closing for good come August 1.
Launched in 1985, Bishop's has been a staple in the city's farm-to-table movement and elegant dining.
Chef/owner John Bishop says he's opting to shutter after a "terrific run" in order to spend more time with his family and to work on a book.
To bring Bishop's storied run to a close, a series of special dinners and events had been planned. No word yet on if those dinners will still be able to take place, given the COVID-19 crisis and the operational restrictions B.C. restaurants face in the coming weeks and months.
Bishop's is located at 2183 West 4th Avenue in Vancouver.
