It's been a big three years for Metro Vancouver's and the brand keeps getting bigger.
The self-serve hot pot chain launched in 2021 and now operates five locations in Metro 鶹ýӳ(in Burnaby, Vancouver, and Richmond).
The hot pot restaurant is set to open another location in the region next week, with the July 15 debut of Big Way on Ackroyd in Richmond.
Next up: A location at UBC (2155 Allison Rd #222) is aiming for an August debut, and four more Metro 鶹ýӳlocations are planned to open between this fall and winter 2025.
The ongoing expansion will find Big Way Hot Pot restaurants in more communities, including Coquitlam, New Westminster, and Langley, and in Burnaby's Lougheed area.
Additionally, Big Way will open two U.S. locations this fall, both in Los Angeles.
Big Way's build-your-own hot pot concept finds guests loading up their bowls from a massive ingredient wall, featuring about 100 components, from noodles and veggies to seafood and meats. Diners then move to the till where the order is weighed and sent to the kitchen with a choice of 10 specialty broths.
Guests can assemble their own condiment dishes from the sauce bar while waiting for their steaming bowl of customized soup to land on their table. To finish: soft serve ice cream.
The chain's popularity has spawned a fun local TikTok trend that finds groups of friends guessing how much their Big Way will cost before they get to the register.
