Fans of Vancouver's award-winning take note: After a long wait, the popular Japanese noodle soup shop is to another outpost.
Ramen Danbo has been at work for about a year now setting up its third Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»location at 2277 W 41st Ave in Kerrisdale.
The opening date for Ramen Danbo in Kerrisdale is set for January 18 at 11 a.m.
The new location of the award-winning ramen joint replaces Sofra Mediterranean Kitchen, which had been at the address for about a decade before Ramen Danbo got the keys last winter.
The first Danbo ramen restaurant opened in Japan just over 20 years ago, however, the chain's first locations outside of its home country were the two Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»locations - the first of which, at 1833 West 4th Ave in Kitsilano, opened in the spring of 2015. The restaurant was immediately acclaimed for its ramen, and consistently draws line-ups for seats, as does its second branch on Robson Street.
Danbo is known for its Fukuoka-style tonkotsu (pork broth) ramen crafted in the Kyushu Hakata style, served with thin noodles, however, the restaurant has earned widespread praise for its plant-based ramen, catching the attention of activist group PETA for its vegan offering.
Initially, Ramen Danbo had hoped to open its Kerrisdale branch in early 2023.
