Tokyo-based recently opened up its first location in 鶹ýӳproper, and now the menu there is fully aligned with its original B.C. location in Richmond - and that means lots of new dishes to try .
Afuri is known for ramen featuring its light, bright, citrusy clear broth made with yuzu and chicken, as well as its popular hazelnut vegan ramen, however the brand has been enjoying great success with its small plates selection. Among its several Portland, Oregon locations, its izakaya-style concept is its most popular, and that's prompted the Metro 鶹ýӳfranchisees to lean into those options for its recent menu refresh.
In fact, while Afuri's Richmond location used to have ramen ordering kiosks that are popular with on-the-go diners in Japan, those units have now been taken out in order to offer a more leisurely group-focused dining experience, from drinks to the whole meal.
Some new dishes on the Afuri menu include juicy, tender shrimp wontons; yuzu shio edamame; an apple and seaweed salad; and agedashi tofu in a delectable house-made plant-based broth.
Additionally, Afuri has some tantalizing seasonal selections, including a fragrant bowl of ramen with five spice, their new wontons, and beautifully chewy thin noodles. They'll be rotating in new limited-edition dishes and drinks every few months, and will likely refresh the overall menu a couple of times a year, too.
Because the izakaya concept is about sharing lots of dishes and hanging out, you can also expect to see an expanded selection of house cocktails on offer, as well as some fun new mocktails.
