After the success of last year, the nation-wide Filipino Restaurant Month is back. These are the 9 restaurants and bakeries participating in April, 2023.

Following the success of last year’s Filipino Restaurant Month, the Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) and the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) have announced the event will be returning Canada-wide.

There are approximately 957,000 Filipino community members across Canada and throughout the month of April, participating restaurants will feature prix fixe menus that highlight the talent of Filipino chefs and the unique variety of food and ingredients.

Last year, 40 restaurants across seven Canadian provinces and 18 cities participated including eight restaurants and bakeries in Vancouver.

People can expect boodle fights, also known as Kamayan, kinamot or kinamut, a Philippine military tradition where food is piled high on banana leaves for soldiers to share with their bare hands. Or sisig (an adventurous dish made with pork jowl) and all sorts of ube treats.

Menu details from participating restaurants will be shared by each venue, but these are the participating restaurants and bakeries in Metro Vancouver:
