For the second year in a row, Vancouverites will miss out on another spooktacular event this fall: VanDusen Botanical Garden's Glow in the Garden light display.
A spokesperson with the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Park Board told Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» via email the garden’s staff made the decision some time ago due to resource constraints and uncertainties around coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions. The news comes on the heels of the Stanley Park Ghost Train being cancelled over coyote concerns.
In 2019, Glow in the Garden's guests went on a journey to help Anna the hummingbird and her friends lift the "hootenanny" glowing spell cast over the garden by a tricky old owl, collecting treats along their way. In 2020 the event went dark amid the pandemic.
“We are hoping to offer a holiday event this winter, but staff are still working through those details,” the spokesperson added.
Last year Metro Vancouverites could still get their holiday lights kick with Glow Langley, a spectacular, holiday-themed drive-through light show.
