For book lovers and authors, this Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»festival is a must-attend.
The returns with an impressive line-up of authors and books from Oct. 16 to 22, 2023.
The festival will feature more than 125 authors from around the world and host 85+ events across Granville Island and schools in the Lower Mainland.
"The Festival is proud to present a thrilling line-up of events for its 2023 season, including some of the world's most esteemed writers and up-and-coming stars," said Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Writers Fest Artistic Director, Leslie Hurtig in a press release.
The featured authors include Naomi Klein, Cherie Dimaline, Mona Awad, and Celeste Ng.
This year's festival welcomes CBC Commotion host and bestselling author of Son of Elsewhere, Elamin Abdelmahmoud, as the Guest Curator.
Other events include a conversation with the 2023 Scotiabank Giller Prize finalists; a discussion with Naomi Klein about her new book; a talk on the climate crisis with Matt Galloway of CBC Radio's The Current; and an exploration of identity, colonialism and ecology.
The festival also continues to offer its iconic events like Poetry Bash, Afternoon Tea, and Literary Cabaret.
Youth events will feature workshops, keynotes, and discussions with children's authors and illustrators such as Jon Klassen, Kirsten Pendreigh, Crystal Smith, and Michelle Kadarusman.
