Rugby fans can ruck over to Klahanie Park on Saturday to watch some top-tier play.

On Aug. 3, the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Highlanders – Canada’s only professional rugby team – will square off against the Brazilian national team at the Capilano Rugby Club in West Vancouver.

The match is part of the Rugby Players Challenge Summer Series, where the Highlanders and other international rugby teams compete for the Rugby Players Challenge Cup, a historic trophy crafted in England in 1889.

Before taking on the 29th-world-ranked Brazil team, the Highlanders are so far undefeated in their debut season, with recent wins against Canada Selects and Barbados on June 28, and Germany on July 20.

The Highlanders will play the Canada XV team on Aug. 17, also at Klahanie Park.

The Players Challenge is reminiscent of a bygone era, when the British Lions and All Blacks travelled to British Columbia to play at Brockton Oval, said Highlanders co-founder Curry Hitchborn.

“An important aspect is the opportunity in our matches against Canada to see 40-plus exceptional Canadian athletes testing themselves against each other, best on best. We will be announcing more games soon,” he said in a statement.
