Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»firefighters are doing the opposite of their regular job description to raise money for charity.
Rather than putting out fires, firefighters from across the Lower Mainland will turn up the heat for a heart-pumping meet-and-greet at The Roxy Cabaret on the Granville Strip to raise funds for hungry kids and seniors at risk.
The event will also see prospective models "strut their stuff onstage" for an opportunity to be featured in the "Hall of Flame" calendar. The steamy selection kicks off at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 24.
Each year, the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Firefighter Charities (VFC) sells the popular calendar to raise funds for the as well as VFC’s roster of charitable outreach programs like and that benefit at-risk youth and seniors in communities throughout B.C.
General admission tickets to the event are available for $25 per person, with a limited number of VIP booths also available online while supplies last.
"The Hall of Flame calendar is the longest-running firefighters calendar in the world, and we’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported or continues to support this project,” says Calendar Coordinator Ryan Pidhirniak.
A hundred percent of all ticket and calendar sales and donations directly benefit local charities and causes that need our support now more than ever, and we thank the Roxy for hosting our selection party and everyone who is able to come out and cheer us on.”
Off-duty firefighters will also raise funds for the VFC by selling apparel and calendars and by helping members of the public suit up in turnout gear at West Coast Women’s Shows at the Abbotsford Tradex from Oct. 13 to Oct. 15 and at BC Place from Nov. 17 to Nov. 19. The second event will also feature "the triumphant return of the famous Hall of Flame fashion show."
