The (VIBFF) will give voices from here and abroad a place to be heard later this month.
In its second year, the festival is happening over four days; it's the first with in-person events as organizers shift to a hybrid model.
"VIBFF is a unique festival, coupled with entertainment and empowerment. It not only shines a light on diversity, but through film screenings and various discussion panels, this festival is an impactful movement that gives a voice and a platform to marginalized artists," states the festival organizers.
Four at Vancity Theatre as part of the festival, with another five films included in the online portion of the festival. A short film series will also be available online.
Along with the films, the festival will have about filmmaking and being Black in today's society, including a discussion about Vancouver's Black community looking at Hogan's Alley, its destruction, and where the community meets today.
The festival is happening Dec. 16 to 20, with live events Dec. 16 to 18.
