This Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»DJ is throwing a party for a good cause.

Koji Aiken is at the forefront of Vancouver's music scene, continuously expanding and innovating the city's nightlife through his music events company  (picture outdoor foam parties and themed theatre raves).

Earlier this year, the local DJ took on a new undertaking called  - a community-based initiative run entirely by volunteers to help push drum and bass music culture forward through free parties.

"The goal with this project is to provide a space where people don't have to worry about [money] and can just come enjoy the music," he told V.I.A. in a previous interview.

The events offer free entry to "ensure that everyone has an opportunity to participate in this meaningful event and support the drum and bass culture revival in Vancouver," says Aiken in a news release.

This month's party will also double as a fundraiser.

On Sept. 23, will turn The Rec Room at Brentwood Mall into a bumping night of live drum and bass music, with all donations going towards wildfire relief efforts.

When: Sept. 23, 9 p.m.-1 a.m.

Where: The Rec Room - 1920 Willingdon Ave, Burnaby

Cost: By donation
