Vancouver's biggest cat purrrty is back!

A one-day event filled with a variety of cat-themed activities will pop up at the Rocky Mountaineer Station on Aug. 19, featuring everything from crafts and cat-themed tattoos to a scavenger hunt and cat costume contest.

Event-goers will be able to meet their favourite feline internet celebrities in purr-son at a free Meet and Greet, including Bodhi the adventure cat, Teddy the tabby, and Snapple who was born with wobbly cat syndrome.

Humans can also participate in a scavenger hunt, help paint a kitten mural, and get a temporary cat-themed tattoo.

Cat owners and lovers alike will also get the chance to show off their cat walk (and favourite cat-themed apparel, makeup, or anything that screams "cat") on the catwalk in a feline fashion contest. The best-dressed contestant wins!

A variety of themed photo-ops, a marketplace with over 40 vendors, and food trucks will be on-site as well, including larger-than-life cat cut-outs and an interactive human-size cat tree.

Meowfest aims to make history this year too by breaking the record for the world's biggest fur ball. Cat owners are encouraged to bring their pet's fur balls to the event. After the record-breaking attempt all the collected fur will be donated to organizations that support environmental and wildlife causes.

Cat lovers who don't own a kitty can walk away with a new furry best friend. Folks can take home a kitten at the Adoptable Kitty Corner presented by Langely Animal Protection Society (L.A.P.S.)

Not only can feline fans find a new friend at the event, but they can also find love. There will be two rounds of "If I Fits, You Sits" speed dating specifically for cat lovers, which you can .

General admission tickets cost $27 for attendees ages 13 and older ($10 for those between seven and 12 years old) and sales start June 3 . A VIP Admission Pass for $120 will get you early and all-day entry to the event, a tote bag full of goodies for you and your cat, a drink ticket, and will let you skip the line to the Adoptable Kitty Corner.
