This film set transformed downtown 鶹ýӳinto New York City (PHOTOS & VIDEOS)

The TV show used a larger group of background performers to simulate downtown New York.

Locals are sharing videos and images from a film set that transformed Downtown 鶹ýӳinto New York City this week.

Production company GEP Resident Inc. filmed scenes for Resident Alien in the city on Wednesday (Sept. 29).

The shows airs on SYFY (short for Sci-Fi Channel) and stars Alan Tudyk as an alien named Harry. Harry assumes "the identity of a small-town Colorado doctor and slowly begins to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his secret mission on Earth," according to .

The show recently won Best Cable Series Comedy at the Hollywood Critics Association awards.

A New Westminster resident shared a couple of images on Twitter of Tudyk and co-star Sara Tomko filming a scene "where Harry sees something on the set of Resident Alien" in Vancouver.

"And yes he’s still chewing pizza," he quips.

At one point, he even captures a photograph of Tudyk looking directly at him while he's chewing.

The local man also shared a video of the actors sharing a "chat and a giggle" on set.

The Network Hub shared a couple of images from the set that shows Pizza 2001 in 鶹ýӳtransformed into "Demelio’s Pizzeria" for the show's New York City appearance.
