How will you be ringing in the new year?
The countdown to 2023 is down to only a matter of days, so it may be time to starting thinking about where to dine to what to wear to where to get your nails done.
While some may opt to stay in with friends or family as they part ways with 2022, others may want to celebrate the year's end with a fun night out. Those choosing the latter won't have to worry about transit fares on their way to the party– TransLink will be offering free transit on all services on New Year's Eve.
As for where to celebrate, and if there will be a fireworks display this year, here is an ultimate guide to New Year's Eve in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»2022:
Will there be New Year's Eve fireworks 2022-2023?
Following a pandemic hiatus, the New Year's Eve fireworks celebration was expected to take place at the event's new location in False Creek. The display was supposed to have activations and pyro special effects that have never been seen in Vancouver.
However, the event was postponed due to "escalating costs in logistics, and challenges with securing the necessary critical labour in completing the required site-wide security and crowd control measures across East False Creek," explains a news release by event organizer .
"This new, truly world-class event concept would have made all Vancouverites proud, and rekindled a sense of civic pride, hope, and betterment during the most auspicious night of the year," it adds.
Now, the countdown is set to Dec. 31, 2023. "New Year's Eve in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»will return bigger and better," writes the update.
Though there won't be an official fireworks show, there are two boat parties that will include a fireworks display as part of their New Year's Eve celebration.
