Nardwuar the (Vancouver-born) Human Serviette has a message for locals (and fans).

The internationally-renowned music journalist is best known for his eccentric personality, extensive research, and coined "doot doo" sign-off.

Growing up in Vancouver, Nardwuar has come to have many favourite local restaurants and shops. The celebrity got his name in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»too.

Recently, Nardwuar took to social media to send a message to his fans and all Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»locals in general.

"Please support the BC Lung Foundation's Climb The Wall," he says in a video. "And remember... doot doo!"

This isn't the first time that Nardwuar has given a local non-profit an internet shout-out.

The journalist interviewed singer Lizzo and rapper Latto while the duo was touring in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»and both performers praised the Vancouver Black Library.

The fundraiser event raises money to help B.C. kids living with asthma.

The climb takes place on Feb. 26 at the Sheraton Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Wall Centre where participants will ascend all 48 storeys of the North Tower, then take the elevator down for an after party.
