The auditions take place under the cabaret's artistic director, Janet Pharaoh, and she will be assisted by Erik Sorensen, resident choreographer. The team will be traveling across Canada in search of new talent to perform on the legendary Moulin Rouge stage, which has been stunning crowds in Paris since 1889. In addition, the dancers should have well-balanced figures but also (and mainly) the personality, charisma and capacity to assimilate choreographies with class and distinction. The organizers also ask that boys have, "a well-proportioned muscled body."

If chosen, lucky dancers will travel to Paris to join the current show ‘Féerie.' The artists will practice for a month of rehearsals and join the team of 60 artists, from 14 different nationalities.

Complete with 1000 costumes of feathers, rhinestones and sequins, sumptuous settings in shimmering colours, a 60 tonne-water aquarium and the famous French Cancan, "Féerie" entertains guests with a stunning 1.45 hour-long performance.

The Moulin Rouge welcomes over 600,000 spectators from around the world annually.
