I was fortunate enough to take a bit of Japanese in high school and one of the things I remember learning about was the activity of 'hanami' or flower watching. 聽It may sound kinda lame but for those who drink it's pretty much an excuse to drink in public, you set up shop under a tree with a makeshift picnic, and get loaded, it's a national passtime. 聽Kinda like 4:20 at the art gallery but with cherry blossoms. 聽Some of the spots are in more demand than a PNE parking spot, with people camping out early to sell them for a profit.
not sure if camping out on Rupert street would be quite the same......
