A film set in Richmond featuring a massive pirate ship continues to draw attention on social media as locals share images and videos of the production.
Rumours are that the set is for the remake of Peter Pan, given that Disney is known to be filming the classic storybook tale in Metro 鶹ýӳthis spring.
The live-action version of Peter Pan, called Peter Pan & Wendy, is filming in Metro 鶹ýӳthat stars Alexander Molony as the flying teenager. Ever Anderson (Milla Jovovich's daughter) stars as Wendy and Yara Shahidi as Tinkerbell.
Anderson and her famous mom were recently out enjoying some Vancouver-area sights; Jovovich shared snaps of the family outing to North Van's Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, calling the attraction "magical."
The Peter Pan & Wendy cast also includes Jude Law as Captain Hook and Jim Gaffigan as Smee. Alyssa Wapanatâhk, a Cree actress from Alberta, will be Tiger Lily.
A recent press release about the film doesn't give much information on the plot, other than it's "J. M. Barrie’s novel 'Peter and Wendy' and inspired by 1953 animated classic," so it's uncertain whether it'll follow as closely to the animated film as the live-action Lion King or vary more like the Mulan live-action remake.
Riley Philips took to Twitter Thursday (May 13) morning to share aerial images of the pirate ship surrounded by a structure that is covered by blue tarps.
In response to the images, Jon Kennedy tweeted a video he recorded of the production as he biked the set. The video shows a couple of people dangling from cranes who appear to be "rehearsing a flying scene."
