Vancouver, B.C. residents took to Twitter in February 2022 to share photos and videos of The Flash filming near CBC headquarters.

Vancouverites caught video and images of a popular television show filming in the city's downtown core this week.

After a holiday hiatus from its robust schedule, The Flash has resumed filming in Metro Vancouver. Now in its eighth season, the CW TV show is about a superhero who assumes his awesome powers after being struck by lightning. Filming for the show commenced in early January.

Camila Mendes shared a resident notification letter from Water Tower Productions on Twitter on Monday (Feb. 7) that stated that filming would take place outside of CBC studios at 700 Hamilton St. on Feb.8.

The letter noted that scenes would involve a "controlled special effects car explosion" within the plaza of the Hamilton St. entrance to CBC. There was a full closure of the 700 block of Hamilton St. from W. Georgia St. to Robson St. from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Mendes also shared a video of the scene that showed the Flash decked out in his trademark red attire as well as another costumed character, several crew members, a crane, and a flipped-over car.

Someone commented that the other superhero looks similar to a "stormtroooper" from the Star Wars franchise.

It isn't uncommon to spot a Hollywood star decked out in super-attire in Metro Vancouver. In fact, multiple TV shows based on popular DC comics have been filmed in the city including PeacemakerBatwomanSupergirl, and more.

A Metro Vancouverite also took to Twitter on Jan. 21 to share a masked-up selfie he snapped with actor Robbie Amell. The Canadian actor plays Ronnie Raymond/Firestorm on The Flash.
