A Hong Kong market is coming to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»with a festive twist.
The is all about showcasing Hong Kong's talent and culture, and it's making a holiday debut this year.
The upcoming cultural pop-up is Chris Ho's second time organizing a market so far, though his first pop-up market in May was smaller with only around eight to 10 booths.
Coming from Hong Kong himself, Ho wanted to show off the his hometown's talents and culture. "Hong Kong people are unique. We are smart and we are kind," he tells Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³».
He had messaged a few friends with his idea for a Hong Kong Christmas market, and the response was overwhelmingly encouraging. When planning the market, Ho says he was lucky to get a spot at Heritage Hall, one of the city's more popular spots for pop-up markets and other events.
The Hong Kong Chirstmas Night Market will take place Dec. 22 and Dec. 23, just a few days before Christmas, and will have various goods made by local vendors who came to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»from Hong Kong. Santa will be greeting shoppers at the door too.
"Some [will have] clothing. Some [will have] cookies and food. Some [are] handmade crafts. Some people will be selling Asian sauce and some people are educational agents," Ho tells V.I.A., adding excitedly that over 15 vendors will be present at the pop-up.
As for Ho himself, he'll be the "market DJ" playing Canadian and Cantonese Christmas songs throughout the night.
